Ransomware Attacks ‘Pretty Close’ to a Large-Scale Cyber Event

Ransomware attacks spread across school systems in Texas and Louisiana last month. It is a serious concern to our cyber security team because hackers are targeting our schools where children data and information are stored. This could leave our children vulnerable to social engineering and blackmail. Furthermore, it is troublesome because schools are used as voting stations which according to Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) was the main target of the attack. The Director of CISA Christopher Krebs highlighted the fact that we do not have rules of engagement when it comes to cyber events. The good news Mr. Krebs emphasized that CISA is taking protecting our voting systems seriously. Hopefully that includes student information as well.

Here at DGM we have developed proven policies and procedures that can lower the risk of ransomware attacks on your system. If you would like to learn more, please reach out to us at contact@digitalguardsmen.com.
